Birthday: June 3, 2009

I read a sign the other day. It said, "a birth plan is an oxymoron."  And I have to agree wholeheartedly.  I knew, going into this, that birth plans have a way of jinxing the best of intentions but for me to gain some control over an uncontrollable situation was the only way I knew how to remain calm and approach this miraculous event as level headed as possible.

Either way, our little miracle arrived 10 days late, with no doula, doses of pitocin, breaking my water, an epidural, 12 minutes of pushing, at 4:47 pm in the afternoon on June 3rd. And you know what? I wouldn't have it any other way.
